SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots picked up two wins down in California, taking down the College of San Mateo Bulldogs and the West Valley College Vikings. They improve to 3-2 on the year after the wins.

The Pilots earned sweeps in both contests with 5-0 wins. It's the first sweeps of the year for the Pilots. The Pilots ended up dropping just one set across both matches, taking every other match in just two sets. The Pilot 1s were Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson with Annika Stammberger and Sophie Lee slotting in as the Portland 2s. Taylor Helle and Valerie Bruk made up the Pilot 3s, Kili Robins and Elena Bullemer were the Pilot 4s while Maui Robins and Jordan Bardouche filled in as the Pilot 5s.

Next up, the Pilots take on a trio of tough opponents this Saturday, March 2. They'll take on the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners, the Santa Clara Broncos and the Sacramento State Hornets all down in Santa Clara. Check PortlandPilots.com for live stats and video options.
