SANTA. CRUZ, Calif. – The Portland Pilots went 1-2 at the Big West/WCC Challenge, defeating the Pacific Tigers 4-1 before falling to the Sacramento State Hornets by the same score and to the CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners 5-0.
 
Elin Larsson and Leonie Freytag once again were the 1s for the Pilots, taking down their Pacific opponents in three sets before dropping the other two matches. They narrowly lost their contest to the Hornets 22-20 in both sets. Taylor Helle and Annika Stammberger were the Pilot 2s this past Saturday dropping their three matches.
 
Kili Robins and Elena Bullemer were the only Pilot duo to earn multiple wins on the day, defeating both their Sac State and Pacific opponents before dropping their match against CSU Bakersfield. Sophie Lee and Valerie Bruk made up the Portland 3s while Maui Robins and Jordan Bardouche were the Portland 5s, with both duos winning against Pacific before dropping their matches against the Hornets and the Roadrunners.
