SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots put the Santa Clara Broncos in a hole early and never looked back in a 7-2 win down in Santa Clara.

How it Happened

The Pilots then held the Broncos scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning. Portland scored three runs, all of them coming on a three-run homer off the bat of Scavotto, scoring Ben Patacsil and Gomes, which brought the score to 4-0 in favor of the Pilots.
Portland held Santa Clara without a run before building their lead to 7-0 the following inning. The Pilots scored two runs off walks and another off an RBI single from Patacsil. Santa Clara put two runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but Portland still coasted to the 7-2 win.
