SALEM, Ore. – The Portland Pilots took on the Corban Warriors down in Salem on Saturday, dropping both their contests against the NAIA national powerhouse. The losses drop the Pilots to 6-6 on the year.
 
The Warriors took the first match by a score of 3-2 and then the next match 4-1. The Pilots' two wins in the first contest came in the Portland and Corban 1s and 4s matches. Elin Larsson and Leonie Freytag battled their Corban opponents in three games, taking the final contest 15-13 to get the win. Kili Robins and Elena Bullemer won the 4s matchup in two games, winning 21-13 and 21-19 respectively.
 
The second match saw only the Portland 5s earn a win, with Maui Robins and Michela Strati coming through to earn Portland a win. They were also pushed to three games for their victory, dropping the first game 21-17 before winning the second by the same score. They came through with a 15-13 win in the final game to get their victory. The Pilots pushed the Warriors to three games in three of the five official matches.
 
Next up, the Pilots will play at the WCC Mid-Season Invitational down in Santa Cruz. The tournament runs from March 29-30. Check PortlandPilots.com for more information.
