PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots scored late in the seventh inning to earn the 3-2 win over the Washington State Cougars.
Jack Folkins (1-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Portland (14-8). The right-hander went two shutout innings while giving up one hit, allowing one walk and striking out two. Kaden Segel also made an impact on the mound for the Pilots, starting the ballgame and throwing five innings, giving up two runs, all earned, on three hits, with three walks and five strikeouts. Tanner Douglas recorded his fourth save of the season.
Evan Scavotto and Justin Ramirez were the only two Pilots to record multiple hits on the day. Scavotto went 3-for-3 on the day with a double while Ramirez went 2-for-3.
How it Happened

That 2-2 tie turned into a 3-2 Portland lead in the seventh after a sacrifice fly from Christian Cooney. The score remained 3-2 for the rest of the game, as Portland held on for the win.
