SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Portland guard Tyler Robertson was named to the 2024 All-WCC Second Team and Tyler Harris earned All-Freshman Team honors, the league office announced on Tuesday. All awards were voted on by the league's nine head coaches.
Robertson, who also earned All-WCC second team honors in 2022 and honorable mention status in 2023, becomes the sixth Pilot to earn All-WCC recognition on three occasions and first since Alec Wintering (2015-17).
Harris is the sixth Portland player to be named to the All-Freshman Team since the WCC began recognizing freshmen in 2004, following teammate Juanse Gorosito last season.
Robertson finished the regular season ranked third in the WCC in scoring (16.5), fifth in assists per game (3.7) and free throw percentage (.808), seventh in field goal percentage (.451), eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6), 10th in three-pointers made (58) and second in minutes per game (35.3).
Robertson's 34 points at Santa Clara are tied for the league's single-game high this year and he also dropped 32 at home against the Broncos later in the season.
Harris battled injuries throughout WCC play, but was one of the top freshmen in the country statistically when healthy. He finished the regular season averaging 12.1 points and 7.3 rebounds with five double doubles. Harris led the Pilots in rebounds per game and blocked shots (20) while shooting 46 percent from the field. The Hayward, Calif. native was named WCC Freshman of the Week on three occasions.
The Pilots now head to the 2024 Union 1 WCC Basketball Championships at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Portland earned the No. 6 seed and an opening round bye. The Pilots will face No. 7 LMU on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in a second-round game with the winner moving on to a quarterfinals game against No. 3 San Francisco on Saturday.
