BOSTON, Mass – Laura Pellicoro took 12
th in the indoor mile semifinals at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, running a time of 4:36.23. Her time did not qualify her for the finals tomorrow.
Despite not qualifying, it's been a dominant indoor season for Pellicoro, who set the school record in four different races this season. Pellicoro holds the record in the indoor mile after running 4:31.39 at the Husky Classic earlier this season. She also set the record in the 600-meter run (1:31.56), the 800-meter (2:05.01), the 1,000-meter (2:42.51) and the 3,000-meter (9:00.46).
Pellicoro qualified for indoor nationals once before in her career, making it in 2022 for the same event. Portland has had 15 NCAA Indoor qualifiers since 1995, including Pellicoro and Matt Strangio on the men's side.
Strangio will run in the 3,000-meter tomorrow at 2 p.m. PST. Check PortlandPilots.com for more coverage.
