PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots Women's Soccer head coach Michelle French announced a new addition to the coaching staff for the 2024 fall season, bringing on Ken Krolicki as an assistant coach for the Pilots.
Krolicki spent the last year with Yale men's soccer as an assistant coach with the team. Yale went 11-6-3 on the season with a 3-1-3 record in Ivy League play, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019 after winning the inaugural Ivy League Tournament last season.
Krolicki most recently played professionally in Australia with Bentleigh Greens in the NPL. Prior to that, he spent time in both MLS and the USL. He played in MLS with C.F. Montreal for two seasons, appearing in 38 games, and was also an active part of the community, helping with the launching of a new public soccer field and serving as a public speaker in the area. He also played for Portland Timbers 2 in the USL Championship league, serving as a captain.
Prior to that, Krolicki starred as a captain for the Michigan State Spartans, playing in 81 of a possible 82 games. He twice made an All-Big Ten team and helped lead the Spartans to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament in 2017. He was an Academic All-American in 2017 and was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
The 2024 season begins on the road for Portland. They take on the Cal Poly Mustangs on Thursday, Aug. 15 down in San Luis Obispo in California. Tickets for the 2024 season are live now, with season tickets, flex packs and single-game tickets available at
