DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Maui Robins and Taina Kaauwai were named to the 2024 Bash at the Beach All-Tournament Team, with Robins earning MVP honors.
Robins and Kaauwai were standout performers, leading the team in both kills and points. Robins topped the team with 53 kills and 65.5 points, while Kaauwai followed closely with 30 kills and 41.5 points. Robins sits at the top of the WCC in kills (53), service aces (eight), and points (65.5), with Kaauwai ranking second in the WCC for blocks (14) and hitting percentage (.429).
Redshirt freshman Havannah Hoeft and freshman Tinoa Woodward-Hart also had strong debuts over the weekend. Hoeft recorded a match-high 61 assists on Friday, Aug. 30 against Bethune-Cookman, totaling 144 assists to lead the WCC over the weekend. Woodward-Hart achieved a match-high 19 digs in the same game, accumulating 43 digs over the weekend, placing her second in the WCC.
The Pilots will be competing at the UCI/adidas Invitational starting Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. against Idaho State. For more coverage and info, visit PortlandPilots.com.
