SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has unveiled its 2024-25 men's basketball conference schedule. With the addition of Oregon State and Washington State as affiliate members beginning this season, the WCC will feature 11 programs each playing 18 games beginning on Dec. 28.
University of Portland will open league with four of its first five games against teams that made the postseason a year ago. The Pilots host Washington State on Saturday, Dec. 28 to tip-off the run. The Cougars reached the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
Portland then visits Oregon State on Dec. 30 and Gonzaga on Jan. 2. The Bulldogs reached the Sweet 16 for the eighth straight season last March. The Pilots then host NCAA participant Saint Mary's on Jan. 4 and close the challenging stretch at NIT participant San Francisco on Jan. 9.
The Pilots host Pacific Northwest rivals Gonzaga and Oregon State Jan. 25 and Feb. 13, respectively. Portland has two doubleheaders with the women's team on the schedule: Jan. 4 (Saint Mary's) and Feb. 15 (LMU). See below for the complete list of UP games.
The full selection of games from the WCC's national television partners, ESPN and CBS Sports Network, along with its schedule of contests on ESPN+, will be announced in the fall, along with game times.
A majority of games remain in the Thursday-Saturday format, although occasional games have been moved to other dates to create opportunities for enhanced television exposure and greater programming flexibility.
Each of the 11 programs will play eight conference opponents twice and two teams once as part of its 18-game schedule. The Pilots do not host San Francisco and will not visit Santa Clara next season.
The 2025 Credit Union 1 WCC Basketball Championship returns to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 17th consecutive year. The 11-team tournament will be held from March 6-11.
