LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Pilots could not overcome an opposing Lions offense Saturday on the road, falling to Loyola Marymount in straight sets (23-25, 22-25, 17-25). The loss dropped Portland's record to 8-8 overall and 3-2 in WCC action.
Lucia Busso led the Pilots' attack with nine kills on the day. Defensively, Portland had two players reach double figures in digs, as Tinoa Woodward-Hart tallied 15 and Havannah Hoeft added 12.

» Tinoa Woodward-Hart posted a team-high 15 digs, surpassing 500 career digs.
» Havannah Hoeft dished out a team-best 24 assists to go along with 12 digs, earning her fifth double-double of the season and bringing her career total to 1,404 assists.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots dropped the first set 25-23 in spite of a solid showing on the attacking side. Portland put together a .355 attack percentage with 14 kills in the set loss.
SET 2 | Portland then dropped set two 25-22 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. LMUÂ grabbed the advantage for good at 21-20 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Lions took over in the second half of the set
SET 3 | Portland couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Pilots lost a tough set 25-17. Portland trailed by as many as eight points as Loyola Marymount grabbed the advantage for good at 11-10 in a set that was tied up four times before the Lions took over the lead.
