• The Portland Pilots sit at 6-3-4 on the season and 3-1-1 against WCC opponents after posting a 1-0 shutout win over the San Francisco Dons.
• The win was Portland's sixth shutout victory of the year, good for the second most in the conference.
• Violet Rademacher had the winning goal for the Pilots, her second of the week. She now has a team-high four goals this season and 10 for her career.
• Portland has allowed just one goal or fewer in 11 of 13 matches this season. It's the fourth straight year that they've hit that mark.
• They lead the conference currently in goals-against average, sitting at 0.692. That's good for 34^th in the nation.
• Sophia Hills has been crucial between the pipes for Portland, posting six shutouts with a .640 goals-against average. That average leads the conference, with her shutout total ranking second.
• Five different Pilots have scored this season: Rademacher (4), Hailey Still (3), Hailey Bagby (2), Aliyah Dockter (1) and Mao Ito (1).
• Rademacher's two game-winners makes her one of 13 players in the conference with multiple winning goals.
• The Pilots are coming off a season that saw them finish 9-5-6 overall and 4-3-3 in WCC play. They've won at least nine games each of the last four years, marking the first time the Pilots have put together at least nine wins a season for four straight seasons since a stretch between 2010 and 2013.
• Last season, they were second in the WCC in goal differential (19), goals-against average (0.850) and shutout percentage (.400) while leading the conference in save percentage (.828).
• The Pilots were picked to finish sixth in the annual West Coast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, with Keeley Dockter representing the Pilots on the All-WCC Preseason Team. This is Dockter's first time making it on the preseason squad.
• Jillian McBride is the lone returner for the Pilots to earn All-WCC honors last season, making the freshman team. She scored one goal and added two assists in her first year on The Bluff.
• The Pilots return 16 players from last year's squad while adding 11 newcomers.
• Among the key returners are forward Hailey Still and Hailey Bagby, who were second and third respectively on the team in total points. Still scored seven goals for 14 points while Bagby added four goals and four assists as a defender.
• Michelle French is in her eighth season as head coach of the Pilots. She's posted a 66-44-25 record overall and led the Pilots to their first postseason appearance in 2022 in nine years. 

 
ABOUT THE GAELS

• The Saint Mary's Gaels are 8-2-2 overall and 3-1-1 in WCC play, with their eight wins being tied for the most of any WCC team this season.
• Most recently, they fell 2-0 to the Seattle U Redhawks in Seattle, their first loss since August.
• They already surpassed their win total from last season, having gone 7-7-4 overall and 4-3-3 in WCC play.
• The Gaels were picked to finish seventh in the WCC in the annual WCC Preseason Poll, with Sydney Middaugh picked to the All-WCC Preseason Team.
• Middaugh was an All-WCC Second Team selection after scoring four goals with three assists. She has a team-high five goals with two assists this year.
• Theresa Romagnolo is in her sixth season as head coach of the Gaels, having led the Gaels to their best finish in conference since 2001 last year. She is 44-28-23 in her career at Saint Mary's.
