STOCKTON, Calif. -- The Portland Pilots totaled 12 blocks en route to a 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-16, 27-25) of the Pacific Tigers on the road Thursday night. For the first time in program history, the Pilots swept the season series against Pacific, winning both matches in straight sets. The victory improves Portland's record to 10-9 overall and 5-3 in WCC play.
Maui Robins finished with six kills on the day to lead the Pilots offense. Portland got 11 digs from Tinoa Woodward-Hart to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots opened up an early one set to none lead, winning the first set 25-22. Portland never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that had just one lead change before the Pilots took over the lead.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Portland put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-16 victory in set number two. The Pilots led from the opening point on in the set to secure the victory. Portland opened its biggest lead of the set, nine points, to finish off the set. The Portland offense also got a boost from three aces. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Pacific attacks in the set and capitalizing on 13 Pacific attacking errors on the way to victory.
SET 3 | Portland closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning the third set. The Pilots came out on top of a close battle, winning 27-25 in a set that was tied nine times and had five lead changes. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking seven Pacific attacks in the stanza and capitalizing on 11 Pacific attacking errors on the way to victory.
