PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots scored the win on Senior Night, earning their eighth shutout of the season with a 1-0 victory over the Washington State Cougars. The win puts their record at 7-3-6 overall and 4-1-3 in WCC play.
Tayvi Khann scored the lone goal in the match, her first goal of the year and of her career. The Pilots are unbeaten through their last four matches with the victory.
How it Happened
Khann's goal came in the 11
th minute for the Pilots. The midfielder collected a header from Washington State and rocketed it in for a goal, making it 1-0 Portland.
The Pilots were stout defensively, fielding six shots and posting two saves in the second half. The Pilots held on the rest of the way for the win, posting their eighth shutout.
Game Notes
- Khann's goal was her first of the year and the first of her career. She's the sixth different Pilot to score this season.
- This is the eighth shutout of the year for the Pilots and the eighth for Sophia Hills as well.
- Hills has the most shutouts by a Pilot keeper since Bre Norris in 2023.
- Hills had five saves on the match.
- The Pilots have allowed just 11 goals through 16 matches this season.
- The Pilots are unbeaten through their last four matches.
