MORAGA, Calif. – The No. 6 Portland Pilots earned the victory in their final match of the regular season, winning 1-0 on the road against the Saint Mary's Gaels. The win puts them at 13-1-3 overall and 6-1-2 in WCC play, their highest regular season win total since 1995. Their .853 winning percentage is also the highest since 1988.
Joe Highfield had the goal for Portland, with David Ajagbe earning the assist. Highfield has nine goals on the year. With the shutout, Portland has posted nine shutouts on the year, the most since 2022. Portland's six wins in conference play are the most since 2022 as well.
How it Happened
Portland's goal came in the 23
rd minute. Portland had a breakaway opportunity and pushed it ahead to David Ajagbe. Ajagbe's shot went off the crossbar and back into the feet of Joe Highfield, who finished it off for the goal. Highfield's goal was his ninth of the season and the game winner. The Pilots held off the aggressive Saint Mary's attack – including three second-half saves from Miguel-Angel Hernandez – for the 1-0 win.

- Highfield's 16 goals through two seasons are the most by a Pilot in his first two years since Benji Michel (2016-17).
