PORTLAND, Ore. – The No. 8 Pilots stay dancing, moving on after taking down the Grand Canyon Antelopes 1-0 for a shutout victory in the Round of 16. Portland's win pushes them through to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the fourth time in program history and the second time under head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt.
Joe Highfield played a total of 11 minutes and scored the game-winning goal 34 seconds into his appearance. It was his 11
th goal of the year, leading the Pilots. Diego Rosas assisted the goal, giving him 15 on the year, the most Portland now improves to 14-1-4 on the year with 12 wins at home, the most in program history.
How it Happened
Neither team had an advantage, with both teams playing stout defense in the first half. The game was even until the 80
th minute. In a tight defensive battle, Joe Highfield subbed in that same minute and made an immediate impact, taking a service from Diego Rosas and putting a head on it before sneaking it by the keeper with his right foot for goal. The goal was his 11
th of the season and proved to be the game-winner, putting this Pilot team down in history.

- Highfield's 27 points on the year (11 goals, five assists) are the most by a Pilot since Jacob Babalai in 2023 (28 points).
