PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots dominated the LMU Lions in a three-set win (25-13, 25-21, 25-22) Thursday at home at Chiles Center. This is the Pilots' first victory against the Lions since 2010. The conference win improved Portland's record to 11-12 overall and 6-6 in WCC play.
Lucia Busso finished with 14 kills on the day to lead the Pilots offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .500. Defensively, Portland had two players reach double figures in digs as Tinoa Woodward-Hart had 15 and Havannah Hoeft had 11. From the front row, Taina Kaauwai contributed match-high seven blocks.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots took control on the first point and never trailed to win the first set 25-13. Portland led by 13 points at 22-9 before finishing off the set, totaling 15 kills.
SET 2 | Portland took set two 25-21 to quickly grab a 2-0 lead. The Pilots grabbed the set with the help of a strong performance on the attacking side. Portland registered a .407 attack percentage with 14 kills in the set win. The Pilots took their first and last lead of the match at 12-11 and rode it to victory. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Loyola Marymount attacks in the set.
SET 3 | Portland closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after taking set three. The Pilots took set three 25-22. Portland trailed by as many as six points, but took the lead for good at 21-20 in a set that had just one lead change before the Pilots took control in the second half.
