How It Happened
After playing to a 3-3 tie, Portland went on a 6-0 run with 18:59 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Williams, to take a 9-3 lead. The Pilots then added two points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 53-45 advantage. Portland did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 28 of its 53 points close to the basket.
Portland kept its lead intact before going on a 10-0 run, finished off by Garrett Nuckolls' layup, to grow the lead to 95-77 with 4:34 to go in the contest. The River Otters narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Pilots still cruised the rest of the way for the 104-87 win.
