PORTLAND, Ore. -- Maisie Burnham scored a career-high 31 points in the Portland Pilots' 84-79 win over the Washington State Cougars.
The Pilots (24-3, 13-3) had three players score in double figures, led by Burnham's 31. Burnham is the first Pilots to score at least 30 points in a game since 2022. Alexis Mark tacked on 16 points, nine rebounds and four assists and Emme Shearer chipped in as well with 11 points and two steals. McKelle Meek matched a career-high as well with 11 assists
How It Happened
The Pilots attacked early and often in the first quarter, trading buckets with the Cougars before going on a late run to take a 20-13 deep in the first. The Pilots then maintained that lead and entered the quarter break with a 24-17 advantage.
Portland pushed that lead to double-digits halfway through the second quarter, taking command. The Cougars cut into that lead, but the Pilots still enjoyed a 47-40 advantage heading into halftime.
Portland preserved the halftime lead despite a push from the Cougars, scoring five points in the final minute to take a 66-68 lead after three quarters. The Pilots then held on for the 84-79 victory in the fourth.

» The Pilots made half of their attempts from three point range, knocking down five of 10 shots.
» The Pilots put on a passing clinic, recording an assist on 76% of made baskets for 26 total. Their 26 assists are a season-high.
» McKelle Meek collected 11 assists for Portland, matching her career-high.
» Portland cleaned up on the offensive glass, collecting 12 offensive boards in the game.
» Maisie Burnham led the Pilots with a game-high 31 points. That is also a career-high for Burnham.
