LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Credit Union 1 WCC Championship bracket is set and Portland men's basketball is the No. 8 seed with an opening round bye. The Pilots will face No. 9 Pepperdine on Friday at 6 p.m. in the second round with the winner advancing to meet No. 5 Oregon State on Saturday.
The Pilots (12-19, 7-11 WCC) finished the regular season strong by winning five of the final eight regular season games.
The Waves (10-21, 4-14) were tied with Pacific in the league standings but received the No. 9 seed by way of sweeping the Tigers.
Portland beat Pepperdine in both regular season meetings. The Pilots won 84-64 at Pepperdine and then defeated the Waves by an 87-67 margin in Portland last Thursday.
The first three rounds of the men's tournament and the first five rounds of the women's tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+. ESPN2 and ESPN will televise the quarterfinals and semifinals of the men's tournament, and the championship games of both the men's and women's tournaments. Visit the
