STOCKTON, Calif. -- Ryan Rembisz and JT Landwehr combined to throw a shutout on Sunday as the Portland Pilots blanked the Pacific Tigers 8-0.
Rembisz (3-1) started and picked up the win for Portland (9-15, ), going seven shutout innings while giving up just two hits, walking one and striking out seven. Landwehr was dealing out of the bullpen as well, going two shutout innings, allowing two hits himself.
Offensively, Doyle Kane and Cody Nitowitz each posted two hits, with Kane adding two RBI's and Nitowitz one. Zach Toglia hit his fifth home run of the year, becoming the first Pilot to five home runs this year, and Tyler Howard extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
How it Happened
The Pilots took the lead in the third and never looked back. Portland got an RBI single from Kane, scoring Nitowitz from third base.
The Pilots then tacked on runs in the fourth and ninth innings, with their biggest output coming in the ninth when they scored six times. Toglia hit his home run in the fourth inning, bringing home a run, while the ninth inning was highlighted by RBI hits from Nitowitz, Howard and Kane. Portland held Pacific scoreless to secure the 8-0 shutout.

» Rembisz and Landwehr combined to throw a four-hit shutout. This is the second shutout of the year for the Pilots.
» Rembisz struck out seven Tigers hitters. It's the fourth time he's allowed zero earned runs in an outing this year.

» Cody Nitowitz and Doyle Kane each posted two hits, leading the way for Portland. Nitowitz added two RBI's as well.
» Toglia hit 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI's. He's the first Pilot to five home runs this year.
» Toglia now moves into a tie for sixth all-time for Portland in career home runs at 25.
» Howard extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
» This is the first sweep of the year for the Pilots.
» Portland has won 15 straight games against the Tigers.
