THIS WEEK
• The Pilots will take part in the West Coast Mid-Season Challenge in Santa Cruz.
• This event will feature a look at all six other WCC Beach Volleyball programs, including #3 LMU (20-2), RV Pepperdine (8-7), Santa Clara (7-10), San Francisco (6-14), Saint Mary's (9-10) and Pacific (1-9).
• Scheduled pool play for the tournament will begin tomorrow, with the Pilots taking on Pepperdine at 10 a.m. and Saint Mary's at 2 p.m.
• If the Pilots finish with one of the top two records in their poll (Pepperdine and Saint Mary's), they will move onto the gold bracket that will also feature the top two teams from the other pool (LMU, Santa Clara, San Francisco and Pacific). If they finish third in their pool, they will play in the silver bracket.
 
LAST WEEK
The Portland Pilots picked up their second win of the season with a 5-0 sweep against the Bushnell Beacons. They improved to 2-4 on the year after the win.
 
ABOUT THE PILOTS
• Dylan Hamilton steps into his second year as the lead coach of the beach volleyball program, with Pilot graduate Kili Robins returning to the Bluff to serve as the assistant coach. Joining the program is Callie Weber, volunteer assistant coach.
• The Pilots return eight from last year's roster: Michela Strati, Valerie Bruk, Jordan Bardouche, Elena Bullemer, Taylor Helle, Elin Larsson, Annika Stammberger and Leonie Freytag.
• The beach volleyball program welcomes four new transfers to their roster including Emily Wood, Elizabeth Ortiz, Melissa Cormack and Hannah Debban.
• Valerie Bruk, Elena Bullemer, Elin Larsson and Leonie Freytag are returning from the Pilot's indoor roster.
• Pilots finished 2024 season with a 11-13 record.
