FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Portland Pilots fell to the No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks 20-3 down in Fayetteville, giving the Hogs the first game of the series.
Carter Gaston (0-4) started and took the loss on the mound for Portland (5-9). Cole Katayama-Stall recorded multiple hits for the second game in a row, batting 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI's. Brady Bean added two hits as well, becoming the first Pilot to 20 hits this year.
How it Happened
The Pilots got the scoring started early, putting two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. Cole Katayama-Stall's triple off of Gabe Gaeckle plated two for Portland.
Arkansas took control after that, scoring 18 unanswered runs through the next five innings. Portland scored again in the sixth on an RBI single off the bat of Jonas Salk, which brought the score to 18-3 in favor of the Razorbacks. The Pilots were unable to get any closer, as Arkansas added two runs to their tally on the way to a 20-3 final through seven innings.

» Portland pitchers faced 40 Arkansas hitters in the game, allowing eight ground balls and three fly balls while striking out seven.
» Katayama-Stall led the Pilots at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI'S. It's the second multi-hit game in a row for the freshman.
» Katayama-Stall hit the first triple for the Pilots this season.
