STANFORD, Calif. – The Portland Pilots made their mark at the Stanford Invitational, held at Cobb Track & Angell Field, delivering personal bests and two new school records.
Matt Strangio led the charge with a victory in the Men's 5000m, clocking a personal best of 13:24.14, setting a new school record.
The second school record of the night came from Jonas Gertsen, who finished 18th in the Men's 10000m with a time of 28:11.64 PR.
The Pilot men showed out in the 10K, with Jona Bodirsky (28:22.00) placing 4th in Section 2 and moving to third all-time at UP, followed by Jonas Price (28:33.97, 5th all-time), Bradley Peloquin (28:36.39, 7th all-time), and Cameron Stein (29:00.31), all posting personal bests.
In the 5000m (Section 4), Trey Gannon posted a PR of 14:07.71, while in the Women's 5000m (Section 2), Maebh Richardson ran 16:10.06, good for sixth all-time at UP.
The Pilots also turned heads in the 1500m, as Mark Milner ran a personal best of 3:41.76 in Section 1, placing seventh and moving to seventh all-time in school history.
In the 3000m steeplechase, Giuliano Scasso earned a top-five finish in Section 2 with a time of 8:55.08.
On the women's side, Juliette Forstrom clocked 33:34.61 in the 10000m (Section 1), a personal best that now ranks fourth all-time at UP.
