LOS ANGELES, Calif. – In a hard-fought result against one of the nation's top teams, the Portland Pilots tied the No. 4 USC Trojans on the road 0-0. The tie moves Portland to 1-1-2 on the season.
Portland becomes the first team to hold the Trojans scoreless since 2023, and they also become the first team to not suffer a loss to USC this year. Portland's tie against the Trojans marks the first unbeaten result the Pilots have earned against a team ranked in the top five nationally since 2013 and their first shutout of a top five team since 2012.
How it Happened
The first half ended scoreless on both sides. The Trojans fired off eight shots, but the Pilots handled it well, not letting the Trojans put much on frame.
The Pilots put three shots on goal in the second half, testing the Trojan defense. USC pushed offensively, but Portland remained stout, fending off the attack. The Pilots shut down the Trojans to grind out an impressive road draw 0-0.

- Sophia Hills posted three saves in the shutout facing 18 shots. This is the second shutout for Hills's career.
- Portland put three shots on goal with seven shots total.
