MOSCOW, Idaho. -- The Portland Pilots opened season with a straight-sets victory (25-21, 25-19, 25-23) over CSU Fullerton before securing another sweep (25-19, 25-20, 25-14) against Oral Roberts on Friday at Memorial Gym. With the pair of wins, the Pilots started 2-0 on the year.
In the opener against CSU Fullerton, Maui Robins posted a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs to pace the Pilots. Lucia Busso added 12 kills on the attack, while Jeryn Hildenbrand recorded 12 digs and Nevaeh Bray contributed four blocks.
Against Oral Roberts, Elin Larsson delivered a match-high 11 kills to lead the offense, with Havannah Hoeft handing out 25 assists to guide the Pilots' attack.

SET 2 | Portland built on a set-one win by earning a 25-19 victory in the second set. The Pilots grabbed the set propelled by a strong performance on the attacking end. Portland registered a .314 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set win. The Pilots ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza.
SET 3 | Portland closed the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning set three. The Pilots led from the opening point on in the set to secure a 25-23 victory. Portland opened up as much as a four point lead at 22-18 before closing out the set, collecting 18 kills along the way. The Portland offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.

SET 3 | Portland took the third set to earn a victory by sweep. The Pilots led from the first point on in the set to secure a 25-14 victory. Portland ended on a high note, claiming its biggest lead, 11 points, to close out the set. Portland's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Oral Roberts attacks in the set.
