Box Score HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Portland Pilots took the first set but came up short in their second match against the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine, losing 3-1. The loss puts the Pilots at 5-3 on the year.
Elin Larsson had a season-high 17 kills on the night to lead Portland in the category. Lucia Busso posted a season-best 16 kills herself while hitting .344. Havannah Hoeft posted a double-double with 39 assists and 12 digs.

How it Happened
SET 1 | Portland rushed out to a 13-9 lead to force an early Hawaii timeout, led by three kills each from Ellin Larsson and Lucia Busso. Busso went on to hit .778 in the set with seven kills, helping guide the Pilots to a 25-18 set victory. Portland hit .343 in the set to Hawaii's .091.
SET 2 | The Pilots held the lead heading into the first timeout again, narrowly leading 15-13. The Pilots and Wahine battled to finish off the set, with the Pilots twice almost closing out the set but having those set-sealing points overturned by challenges from Hawaii. The Wahine won out 29-27 in a thrilling second set.
SET 3 | The Wahine rushed out to a six-point lead , making it difficult for the Pilots to close the gap. Hawaii hit .424 in the set to defeat the Pilots 25-19.
SET 4 | Portland kept pace with the Rainbow Wahine in the fourth, but a four-point run deep in the set put the Pilots down seven points late. Portland could not make up the gap, ultimately dropping what proved to be the final set of the match 25-18.
