PORTLAND, OR --Â The Pilots got the job done in straight sets (25-15, 25-21, 25-23) to knock off Eastern Washington in their home opener at the Chiles Center on Friday, securing their fourth sweep of the season. The non-conference win moves Portland to 4-1 overall.
Elin Larsson paced the Pilots with 13 kills on a .522 hitting percentage, while Havannah Hoeft added a career-high five service aces. On defense, three Pilots reached double figures in digs, including Tinoa Woodward-Hart (14), Maui Robins (10), and Hoeft (10).

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots took control of the set-one lead at 4-3 and never trailed to win 25-15. Portland led by 11 points at 24-13 before finishing off the set, totaling 16 kills along the way. Portland also supplemented their offense with four aces in the opening set.
SET 2 | Portland won set two 25-21 to promptly jump to a 2-0 lead. The Pilots never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 in a set that showcased four lead changes before the Pilots took over the lead. The Portland offense also got a boost from four aces.
SET 3 | Portland took the third set to finish off the match. The Pilots fell behind by seven points at 14-7 before fighting back to win 25-23. Portland grabbed the lead at 23-22 and held on to take the set, totaling 15 kills in the process. The Portland offense also got a boost from four aces in the set.
