MORAGA, Calif. - Portland Pilots Volleyball lost to the Saint Mary's Gaels in four sets (25-20, 25-16, 24-26, 25-19). Havannah Hoeft surpassed 500 season assists, totaling 29 assists in this match.
Hoeft tied with a Saint Mary's player for a match high across both teams with 14 digs. Kala Chock added a team-high 16 kills and Shaylee Stephen and Taina Kaauwai both had three blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Callie Pieper spiked down three kills and Hoeft recorded six of her 14 digs in the first set. Chock, Jeryn Hildenbrand and Tinoa Wood-ward Hart all had three digs each. Chock had one solo solo and three assists as well. Portland tallied a four-point run tying up the game at 13-13, but Saint Mary's was able to take the set 25-20
SET 2 | Chock had five of Portland's eight kills and Hildenbrand and Ellie Diehl Palmer recorded two digs each. Stephen and Lila Krall both had a solo block and Hoeft had eight assists. Saint Mary's kept a consistent lead and won the set 25-16
SET 3 | Diehl Palmer recorded four kills with Chock and Kaauwai having three kills each. Chock and Hildenbrand both had a service ace and Hoeft had five digs. Kaauwai and Stephen had two solo blocks each and Portland won the back-and-forth set at 26-24.
SET 4 | Chock spiked down six kills and Diehl Palmer had four kills. Hoeft and Hildenbrand had three digs each, Hoeft and Kaauwai each had a block solo and Hildenbrand recorded one service ace. Portland had a five-point run toward the end of the set, but it wasn't enough and Saint Mary's took the fourth set to win the match 25-19
