SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Portland Pilots Women's Soccer earned their first win in WCC play behind two goals from Ruby Settle, defeating the San Francisco Dons 2-1 on the Hilltop. The win -- which was the 75th career victory for Portland head coach Michelle French -- puts Portland at 5-6-1 overall and 1-1-1 in WCC play.
Settle's brace is the first of her career and is the first by any Pilot this season. She's up to four goals now on the year, leading the Pilots. Cate Kovats recorded her first assist as a Pilot. Journey Middleborn and Rose Calkins assisted on the second goal for the Pilots, their second assists each of the season. Sophia Hills faced 17 shots and put up six saves in the contest.
How it Happened
The first goal for Portland came in the ninth minute. The Pilots earned a corner kick and Kovats launched the ball into the box. Settle hammered it towards the net, with the ball deflecting into the twine for the goal.
The second goal came in the 33
rd minute. Calkins, running up the right sideline, found Middleborn running towards goal. Middleborn worked it towards the box before playing it to Settle, who took a dribble then sent it in for a goal. The Dons answered in the 47
th minute, but Portland held on for their first win in WCC play.

- This is the first WCC win for the Pilots this year.
- Settle's the first Pilot to score a brace this season. She leads Portland with four goals this season.
