STOCKTON, Calif. - Portland Pilots Volleyball won over the Pacific Tigers in a sweep (25-22, 25-22, 25-21). The Pilots are now 10-3 overall, having their best record through 13 matches since 2018 when they won the first 12 matches. Portland had a solid match with 42 team kills, 44 team digs and 14 total team blocks.
Taina Kaauwai recorded four match highs across both teams. Kaauwai tied with Kala Chock for a match high of 15 kills and had a match high with her hitting percentage of .684. She had match highs across both teams in total blocks (2.5) and points (17.5). Jeryn Hildenbrand reached a new career high with 14 digs in one match, a match high across both teams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | Kaauwai and Chock tallied four kills each and Hildenbrand had three digs. Sydney Cazimero had a set high of three blocks in the first set while Hildenbrand, Tinoa Woodward-Hart and Ava Lilo had a service ace each. Portland took the set 25-22
SET 2 | Portland had three four-point runs and one five-point run, their five-point run taking them from a two-point deficit to a two-point lead midway through the set. Kaauwai had six of her 15 kills in this set, with a hitting percentage of .857, and Chock spiked down five kills. Hildenbrand tallied eight of Portland's 21 team digs and Kaauwai got two blocks. SET 3 | Hoeft recorded 11 assists, setting up Chock for six kills and Kaauwai for five kills. Chock and Hildenbrand each had a service ace and the Pilots had 14 digs, Hildenbrand and Woodward-Hart each with three digs. Portland took the set at 25-21 and won the game in a sweep
