EUGENE, Ore. – Portland women's tennis senior Dariya Radulova earned a three-set singles win, but the Pilots dropped a 6-1 decision to Oregon Saturday at the Student Tennis Center. The Ducks improve to 5-1, while the Pilots drop to 1-3 this season.
Radulova defeated Olivia Symons at No. 2 singles by a 7-5, 1-6, 10-5 margin in a third set super tiebreaker. Radulova and doubles partner Lexie Flores were also leading 5-2 at the No. 2 position when their match was abandoned after Oregon clinched the doubles.
The Pilots battled throughout the lineup, most notably Alaia Rubio Perez pushing Tilde Jagare to three sets at the No. 1 position
Portland will take an extended break before playing three matches in three days Feb. 20-22 in Southern California. The Pilots visit UC Irvine on Feb. 20 and then take on TCU in a neutral site match at Irvine the following day. The weekend concludes at UC Riverside on Sunday.
