RIDGEFIELD, Wash. – The Portland Pilots struggled at the plate, scoring just one run in a 8-1 loss to the Washington Huskies in the NCBWA College Classic. The loss puts Portland at 22-16 overall.
Portland amassed just two hits in the contest, attributed to Brady Bean and Leo Cote. The hit from Bean was a ground-rule double that brought in the lone run for Portland. On the mound, Carter Gaston took the loss, throwing the first two innings and allowing five runs and six hits. Five different Pilots pitched on Tuesday, with Gaston, Aaron Louis, Kaden Starr, Nolan Umlandt and Grady Keljo. Louis threw a team-high 2.1 innings with no runs and three hits and walks allowed.
