PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland Pilots' Men's Soccer head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt was named a College Soccer News 2025 Coach of the Year finalist.
Carlin-Voigt has been head coach of the men's team here on The Bluff for 10 years, entering his 11th year, and led the Pilots to a winning season in 2025 with a 14-2-4 season record and 6-1-2 conference record, placing second in the WCC in 2025. As highlighted in the College Soccer News, his ability to maximize player potential within the program and make game time adjustments helped lead the Pilots all the way to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship this past season for the second time in four years.
Just this past year, the Pilots posted their highest win percentage since 1988 (.800), allowed the fewest goals scored since 1988 (12) and set the single-season assist record with 56. To add to a successful season, the Pilots had the highest number of players to earn All-West Region Honors since 2022 as well as earning the highest post-season ranking from the United Soccer Coaches Poll in program history, ranking sixth.
Pilot men's soccer is expected to keep momentum rolling in the 2026 season, starting with an exhibition match on the road against the Seattle U Redhawks. The match will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m. Then the Pilots will have their first home game of the regular season against California on Friday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. Tickets are now available for purchase at PortlandPilots.com/Tickets.
