PRINCETON, N.J. – No. 3 Portland Pilots Men's Soccer dropped their matchup against the Princeton Tigers 2-0, falling to 0-2-1 on the season.
Portland had seven shots on the day with one on goal, courtesy of David Ajagbe. Miguel-Angel Hernandez had three saves in goal.
How it Happened
Portland outshot the Tigers 5-4 in the early going, putting pressure on the Tiger defense. Hernandez and Denzel Akyirem both came up with goal-saving defensive plays to keep the score even at 0-0.
Princeton broke through in the 75
th and 78
th minute. The Tigers worked it up the right side and crossed it in for their first goal and then scored their second on a through ball into the box. Portland couldn't find the equalizing goals, falling to the Tigers.
