UP Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
Submit a nomination for the UP Athletic Hall of Fame
The University of Portland Athletic Hall of Fame, which currently numbers 84 inductees, was instituted in 1991 after a year of planning. In March 1991, the first 20 members of the Hall of Fame were selected by a 10-member committee.
              Â
Nominees to the Athletic Hall of Fame must meet several qualifications: if an athlete, the nominee’s athletic eligibility must have been completed at least five years prior to induction. Athletes still active professionally will not be considered for nomination until they formally retire; the nominee must have attended the University for at least two years; if not an athlete, the nominee must have made a significant contribution to the University’s athletic program as an administrator, coach, benefactor, etc.
               Â
At present, there are 68 male and female student-athletes in the Hall of Fame, as well as three honorary inductions, six Meritorious inductions, seven coaches and administrators, and one team.
