POLICIES & PROCEDURES

  • Wally will be in-suit for a maximum of 2 hours for any event requested (please specify these hours if your event is longer than 2 hours)
  • All requests must be made via the Wally Request Form (PDF) and sent via email, fax or mail.
  • Wally Pilot must be provided with a private, lockable area for changing at all events that lie outside of the Portland area.
  • Water/Food must be provided for any events over 2 hours away from Portland area, or events that take place with a meal.
  • All additional travel associated costs will be included in the invoice as needed (airfare, baggage fees, parking fees, Uber/taxi fees, etc).

2018-19 COSTS

  • Base Hourly Rate: $150 for first hour
    • Additional hours: $50 per hour
  • University of Portland related events or on campus events: $100 for first hour
    • Additional hours: $25 per hour
  • Mileage Rate (roundtrip): $0.58 per mile driven (per IRS mileage rate as of Jan 1, 2019, subject to change)

NOTICE

Private parties are able to request Wally for appearances, such as, but not limited to; weddings, birthdays, or celebrations as long as the appearance is not used to further political, religious, or other motives not conducive to the standards of University of Portland. Wally can attend an event for a maximum of 2 hours. 

All requests for Wally appearances must be submitted in writing to the University of Portland Athletic Department a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the scheduled event. An email will be sent upon receipt of any requests. This is not a confirmation for the appearance. Should the requesting party not receive an email, please contact the Marketing office immediately to make sure the request has been received. Event requests will be confirmed a minimum of one week prior to the scheduled event.
