UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND 2008: Made 26 appearances out of the bullpen … went 2-0 with one save and an ERA of 6.75 … struck out 34 in 32.0 innings for an average of 9.56 K’s per nine innings … held right-handed hitters to a .220 batting average … during a 9-6 win over Northern Illinois on Feb. 28, he struck out five and didn’t issue a walk during 3.0 scoreless innings of work … struck out four and allowed one walk and one run in 3.0 innings to pick up the 4-3 10-inning win over 18th-ranked Michigan on Feb. 29 … picked up the save after not allowing a base runner and striking out two in 1.2 innings of a 4-3 win over Utah Valley on March 6 … against No. 25 Oregon State on March 31, he struck out six and surrendered just two hits and no runs in 4.1 innings … won his second game after pitching 2.0 scoreless innings of a 6-4 win at Santa Clara on April 4… two days later, he struck out two, didn’t allow a walk and gave up one hit during 2.2 scoreless innings of a 6-2 win against the Broncos.
WEST SEATTLE HS: Four-year letterwinner for coach Velko Vitalich … sat out senior season with an injury … named first-team All-Metro League as a junior after going 6-0 on the hill with a 1.13 ERA, 64 strikeouts and just three walks in 37 innings of work … struck out 12 during 2006 district playoff to help seal team’s berth into stats playoffs … Wildcats went 22-2 in 2006 and claimed the Metro League title and Sound Division championship … earned honorable mention all-league as both a sophomore and a freshman … after recovering from injury after senior season, posted a 2-1 record with five saves, a 1.29 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 16.0 IP for Chaffey Baseball Club Team … also member of the Seattle Mariners Fall Scout Team in 2006 … named to the Baseball Northwest All-Tournament Team at the 2006 Pacific NW Championships.
