Tiffany Gibson returned to the role of director of operations in April of 2019 after spending the previous season (2018-19) as an assistant coach for the Pilots. Gibson came to the University of Portland originally as the director of operations, a position she held from 2015-18.

Prior to her stint at Portland, Gibson was an assistant coach at San Joaquin Delta College for three years. Gibson assisted with every aspect of the San Joaquin Delta College program and she helped lead the Mustangs to a Big 8 Conference Championship. The Mustangs also reached the Elite 8 three times with Gibson on staff and the team advanced to the California State Final Four twice. Gibson’s main responsibilities with San Joaquin Delta College included assisting with recruiting, assisting with team travel, developing and running youth summer camps, organizing and instructing all camps and clinics, academic assistance and monitoring, video analysis and breakdown, team scouting and scouting reports and game and practice analysis. She also focused and developed the defensive end of the floor, while also organizing and developing individual post and team workouts.

Previously, Gibson was an assistant coach at Cal State Stanislaus for one season (2011-12), where she also assisted with every faucet of the program.

Gibson was also a volunteer assistant women’s basketball video coordinator at the University of California (2010-11). With the Bears, she was responsible for video recording, observation and data collection, video analysis, breaking down practice and game films, and she assisted the coaches in team scouting with film breakdown.

Gibson spent a year as a volunteer assistant coach at Cal State Hayward (2009-10) and she began her basketball coaching career as the girls’ varsity assistant coach for the Emery Unified School District (2003-09). From 2004-08, she was the Sports Director for the Emeryville Recreation Department, and she has experience coaching both softball (head varsity coach, Emery HS 2008) and volleyball (head JV coach, Emery HS 2006-08).

On the court, Gibson was a team captain and a second-team all-conference pick while playing for Merritt College (2001-03) in Oakland, Calif.
