Jeremy Beard enters his second season on the bluff as an assistant coach for Head Coach Chris Sperry. Beard graduated from Oregon State University after playing and serving as an undergraduate assistant coach for the Beavers from 1994-1997. As a pitcher, Beard helped the Beavers claim the Pac-10 North Conference title in 1994 for OSU legendary coach, Jack Riley. A year later, he was named a team captain in 1995 for former Pilot Hall of Famer, Pat Casey.

Beard was then the head baseball coach at Central Catholic High School (1998-2001) before becoming the Associate Athletic Director/ Associate Head Coach at Columbia Basin College during a nine-year stint for the Hawks (2001-2010). Beard then served as the Pitching Coach at Western Nevada College (2011-2012).

Over a thirteen year college coaching career, Beard boasts a current collegiate coaching record of 402-115 (.776), which includes a trip to the NJCAA World Series (2012), NWAACC Championship (2006), seven conference titles, 34 players selected in the MLB Amateur Baseball Draft, and 62 players earning Division I scholarships to play in power conferences across the country.

Beard recruited and assisted in the development of eight current professional players; Steve Ames (MLB, Florida Marlins), Darrel Ceciliani, Jr. (4th round, AAA, NY Mets), Dylan Baker (5th round, top prospect list, Cleveland Indians), Tim Peterson (20th round, AA, NY Mets), Taylor Smart (26th round, A, Seattle Mariners), Andrew Woeck (31st round, A, Tampa Bay Devil Rays) and Brandon Show (36th round, A, Boston Red Sox).

During his playing and coaching career, Beard has benefitted from the tutelage from outstanding baseball coaches. Notable names like Tom Campbell (Tigard High School), Jack Riley (Oregon State University), Pat Casey (Oregon State University), Scott Rogers (Columbia Basin College), Steve Farrington (Columbia Basin College), DJ Whittemore (Western Nevada College), and Chris Sperry (University of Portland).

He earned a BS in education from Oregon State in 1996 and he completed his Masters in education at the American Intercontinental University in 2004.
