SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- Portland sophomore guard Bryce Pressley is the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after helping lead the Pilots to a pair of decisive wins over Bradley (74-53) and Princeton (93-79) at the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas. Pressley, who was named the tournament's MVP, averaged 17 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals during the two wins as Portland improves to 8-4.
Against Princeton, a one-loss team entering the game, the Sacramento, Calif., native erupted for a career-high 25 points, including 5-for-5 on three-pointers and 4-for-4 from the foul line. He was 8-for-10 overall from the field. Pressley's previous career best was 10 points.
Against Bradley on Friday night, Pressley had a solid all-around game of nine points, four rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal with zero turnovers.
Pressley is the second Pilot to earn WCC Player of the Week honors this season, joining junior center Thomas van der Mars (Dec. 9).
