2017-18 Roster I Recruiting Class Ranked No. 10 I Tickets

PORTLAND – The University of Portland men's basketball team will hold a public scrimmage on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Chiles Center as the team concludes preparations for its upcoming foreign tour to London. General Admission tickets will be $5 and open seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. In addition to the scheduled scrimmage, fans will be able to partake in a post-game meet-and-greet with players and coaches on the court. Details of the Pilots' upcoming 2017-18 schedule will be announced at the event, as well as season ticket information.

The scrimmage will be a sendoff for the Pilots as they prepare for a scheduled foreign tour to England. The team will have 10 days of formal practice in advance of the tour beginning on Aug. 1 and then depart for London on Aug. 12.

Fans will be introduced to Portland's nine newcomers on the court for the first time at the scrimmage. The incoming recruiting class has been ranked No. 10 nationally by Hoop Scoop. The newcomers, returning redshirts Malcolm and Franklin Porter, as well as four other returning lettermen will take the court for the Pilots.

The advanced practice and scrimmage will be key for head coach Terry Porter as the Pilots will face high-quality competition once in England. Portland is scheduled to face reigning British Basketball League champions Leicester as well as league runner-up Newcastle. Another game against Barking Abbey Basketball Academy and a closed scrimmage against another pro team are also on the docket for the tour.
