AZUSA/TORRANCE, Calif.— The Portland Pilots men's and women's track and field team began their weekend in southern California this Thursday at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Mt. Sac Relays in Azusa and Torrance, Calif. Lacey Conner and Aoibhe Richardson highlighted the night moving up in the all-time UP top-10 records. Junior Richardson won the women's 10,000m A Open Heat with a time of 34:35.60 to claim the eighth spot in the UP records. The redshirt freshman Conner completed the 3000m steeplechase in 10:57.39 to move up to seventh all-time at Portland. In the distance events, junior Lauren LaRocco also stood out on the night with a sixth-place finish in the women's 10,000m invitational to currently mark the seventh best time in the nation.

"This was a fantastic day for us," said head coach Ian Solof. "We had lots of great performances and big PRs. I was so impressed by everyone's tough, smart racing, none more so than Aoibhe Richardson who ran her debut 10k to perfection."
 
In the steeplechase races, redshirt freshman Riley Osen placed third in the men's 3000m steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invite with a time of 8:52.98 and sophomore Joe Horen, who ran in the 3000m steeple at Mt. Sac, recorded a top ten performance in his heat to finish 8^th (8:58.54). Henry Hayes also ran personal best in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 9:12.41.
 
On the women's side, juniors Sophia Noto in the 5000m (17:33.17) and Dylan Hite in the steeple (10:46.34) produced strong performances to record new personal records in their respective events.
 
The Pilots will be back in action on Friday at 8:10 a.m. at the Bryan Clay Invite and 6:55 p.m. at the Mt.Sac Relays. Video and live stats can be found on PortlandPilots.com on both the men's and women's track and field teams.
