STANFORD, Calif. --- Junior Simon Grannetia and sophomore Emmanuel Roudolff-Levisse competed at the Payton Jordan Invitational on Thursday night at Cobb & Angell Track and Field. Both Pilots recorded personal bests to create movement in the UP Top-Ten All-Time Records.
Â
Grannetia placed 12
th overall in section one of the men's 3000m steeplechase in 8:40.07 to move up two spots to sit at fourth all-time.
"Simon did a great job," said head coach Rob Conner. "He lowered his personal best but left a lot of room for improvement. He also had a little trouble with the congestion, but this was the most competitive steeple he has ever run in. He and I are chalking it up as a very positive learning experience."
Roudolff-Levisse also recorded a new personal record in the men's 5000m, matching Pilot alum David Perry's tenth overall top-ten record with a time of 13:58.01.
"Manu was out very hard coming through the 2000 in 5:23," continued Conner. "He hung in and posted a regional qualifier and outdoor pr. I know he can go faster, but just needs a slower initial pace."
Â
The Pilots will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at the Oregon Twilight at Historic Hayward Field.
