EUGENE, Ore. --- Redshirt freshman Riley Osen finished eighth among an elite field in the final race of the 3000m steeplechase at Historic Hayward Field on Friday evening.

Osen, who waited patiently in the back of the pack for the majority of the race, was able to surpass several competitors in the final three laps to claim the last podium spot and earn his first (First-Team) All-American honors of his collegiate career. The freshman moves up to fifth all-time in the UP-record books with a new personal record of 8:41.24.

Junior Taryn Rawlings will be the final Pilot to compete for Portland at the Track and Field Championships, competing in the 1500m final on Saturday at 3:41 p.m.
