On Saturday at Brown, the doubles point turned out to be the difference as the Bears edged the Pilots at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Sunday at Boston College was another narrow defeat, despite Portland jumping out to the lead with the doubles victory.
Sophomore Bryan Thorpe was the lone Pilot to come away with two singles victories, posting wins at the No. 5 position against both Brown and Boston College.
