2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon RacePORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland Pilot women's cross country alum Lyndy Davis qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon event on Sunday. The 2013 graduate completed the 26.2 mile course at the California International Marathon in a time of 2:42:34, booking her a ticket to the Olympic Trials.
"I am really happy for Lyndy and I know she has worked extremely hard to make this happen," said women's cross country head coach Ian Solof. "Running the Trials will be a great experience for her and she has a really bright future in the marathon. I'm confident this won't be the last Olympic Trials she qualifies for."
In order to qualify for the Olympic Trials a runner must complete a half-marathon or a full marathon in a certain time that is established by the USATF. This year the marathon time for men was 2:18:00 while women needed to run faster than 2:43:00. The Olympic Trial race will be held in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday, Feb. 13.

Allison Ritchie have all met the qualifying standard and have the ability to compete for a chance to run in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games.
