Women's Schedule/ResultsPORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots men's and women's track & field teams were in action on Saturday at the Lewis & Clark College Spring Break Open. Over 30 Pilots competed at the Eldon Fix Track on the sunny spring afternoon.
"This was a great early season meet for us," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "Madison Leek had a nice PR in the 200m and Parkes Kendrick really impressed me with her 1,500m win and Emily Peterson also made the top 10 all time with her steeple performance."
On the women's side, Skye Chen-Johnson placed 21
st overall in the 100m with a time of 13.34, while Leek took 4
th overall with her time of 25.26 in the 200m. In the 400m, Dani Castillo placed 6
th overall with a time of 58.95 and Andrea Theriau took 4
th with her 800m time of 2:19.37. Kendrick took 1
st in the 1,500m with her time of 4:28.59 and Peterson took 2
nd with her time of 11:41.57 in the steeple.
For the men, Nathan DeVaughn placed 17
th overall with his time of 11.34 in the 100m and Said Guermali took 7
th overall in the 800m, finishing the two lap race in 1:56.82. Alex Dillard and Logan Orndorf took 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the 1,500m with times of 3:53.43 and 3:54.64.
Portland took four of the top five slots in the 5,000m with Jeff Thies taking 1st with a time of 14:32.07 and Danny Martinez claiming 2nd with his time of 14:43.42.
The Pilots will be back in action on Saturday, March 26 at the Willamette Invite in Salem, Ore.
