PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots volleyball team will be adding transfer Reghan Pukis to the roster announced head coach Brent Crouch on Wednesday. The 6-1 outside hitter will trade in the red of UNLV for Pilot purple in the fall.
"We are thrilled that Reghan is joining our program," said Crouch. "She is a versatile pin attacker who hits with range and power on both the left and right, and is going to be a fantastic beach player for our new sand program. Outside of volleyball, Reghan is a dedicated and diligent student, and has shown the kind of character that we prize here at UP. She'll make a positive difference to our program immediately."
Pukis started a pair of matches for the Rebels during her freshman campaign and had a stellar high school career at Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, Wash.
She earned four letters for the Lions helping them to three straight Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Class 4A state championships in 2012-14. During her four years the team won 93 percent of matches (126-10) and claimed four consecutive Narrows League and District-3 titles. In her senior year she was named the team captain, named 4A Narrows League MVP, was the MVP of the 2015 Washington State All-State Volleyball Team, and received all-league, all-area, and all-state first team recognition. As a junior, she was named to the all-league and all-state first team, and all-area second team.
"I chose UP because of the coaching staff, the strong academics, and the environment around the program," stated Pukis. "I'm looking forward to playing for this coaching staff and improving as a volleyball player!"
Pukis will be a sophomore during the 2016 season with three years of eligibility left.
