PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Portland Pilots fell to the Pepperdine Waves 3-0 (13-25, 19-25, 15-25) Saturday at home at Chiles Center. The loss dropped Portland's record to 9-9 overall and 4-3 in WCC play.
Maui Robins finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Pilots offense. Freshman Vanessa Haddock recorded a career-high seven kills, contributing significantly to the Pilots' attack. Portland got 16 digs from Tinoa Woodward-Hart to lead them defensively.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Pilots fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-13. Portland trailed by as many as 12 points as Pepperdine grabbed the advantage for good at 9-8 in a set that was tied up three times before the Waves took control.
SET 2 | Portland then dropped the second set 25-19 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Pilots fell behind on the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | Portland was not able to win the third set and was swept by Pepperdine. The Pilots dropped a tough set 25-15. Portland trailed by as many as 10 points as Pepperdine grabbed the advantage for good at 9-8 in a set that was tied up three times before the Waves took over the lead.
